2-4 INFORMATION REPORTING HELPS CAREER DEVELOPMENT

With all NCRA-approved schools teaching realtime theory in their beginning theory classes, students are gaining the extra advantage of not having to be retrained to write in realtime. This advantage enables them to develop a dictionary based on their clean, consistent, and conflict-free theory that can be further developed while in school, so that when they graduate their dictionary will be in good shape.

When students are given the opportunity to "earn and learn" by finding employment as an information reporter, they have the extra advantage of adding words to their dictionary from their daily work at their job. These students are given a chance to hear and write words from their employment that they might not hear in a regular speed-building class environment. This will also help them with their vocabulary and their English skills, as well as their proofreading skills. Students who write on the shorthand machine every day on their job are able to perfect their accuracy on the machine, as well as increase their speed.

To be able to produce text quickly, the information reporters must be able to write accurately or otherwise they will constantly have to correct their work. These corrections will cost them money. Students will become very proficient in their accuracy. When students write accurately, speed develops.
